That's the latest BOINC version that will install or work on that computer.

This error has nothing to do with the version of BOINC client but with the science application from your project and it only happened this one time, so a possible glitch where your project task had not closed or clean out a previous runtime in that slot but BOINC had no way of knowing the slot was still occupied running. Have seen similar trouble with you sister project SPT where a task never releases the running tasks...

often appears for me in manual mode when I work with the gp.exe program.

Yes, this program denies access to the file if it is currently occupied by this program.
